The diverse live-action Star Wars series has expanded based on what audiences have learned about beloved characters from a distant galaxy, but according to presenter Tony Gilroy, Star Wars: Andor The audience could be seen changing their minds about these numbers. For most of the Star Wars saga, the lines between good and evil are very blurred, although it looks like the upcoming series will begin to paint a slightly different picture and likely showcase how even the most “heroic” characters have managed to do troubling actions for the greater good. Star Wars: Andor It is expected to debut on Disney+ later this year.
“There are certain events that happen in these five years that are important and that need to be addressed. There are certain people, the old characters, the audience, the excited audience, really feeling that they have an understanding and know,” Gilroy revealed to Vanity Fair. “In some cases they’re right. And in some cases, what we say is, ‘What you know, what you were told, what’s on Wookieepedia, what you said to each other…is really all wrong.'”
Point out that while “wrong” may not be entirely accurate, “it’s upside down, or it’s sideways, or it’s the opposite of what you thought was right. Or it’s way more interesting than you thought. Or it’s a lie and there’s a reason.” So. I would say there are some surprises in store.”
In the opening scenes Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryThe audience sees Andor (Diego Luna) killing an informant just so he can escape safely, confirming that his morals are questionable in the service of the Rebel Alliance. By the end of the film, the character appeared to have accepted responsibility for her actions and even denied orders that he knew were morally wrong. With this series happening before the movie, we will not only see how Andor’s morals have developed, but the morals of the other characters as well.
Gilroy quipped that fans might change their attitude about young Moon Mothma, quipped, “I bet when episode 104 comes out, when Moon Mothma finishes the episode, there will be people tweeting about Moon Mothma.”
